HOW TO CHOOSE A MOTOR
HYDRAULIC MOTOR TYPES
The Skid Steer powered Brush Fire Mulchers generally less powerful then 3-point hitch models but are nicer to operate because of good visibility. This forestry mulcher is developed with motor options for flows from 12-50 gallons per minute. This means good brush mulching performance if matched to the right skidsteer. Be sure to check out our brush cutting size charts to see what your skidsteer can do based on its GPM flow, if you don’t know how much flow your skidsteer has then check out our flow & pressure data base.
WHICH BRUSH CUTT IS RIGHT FOR YOU?
To help you make the best choice of Brush Cutt for you, will largely depend on what machine you have and what cutting performance it can deliver.
1.Verify the flow for you machine by running it at FULL THROTTLE. 2.Use the flow meter to measure the gallons per inute(GPM). 3.Record GPM with restriction Fully Open. 4.Record Tank PSI with restriction Fully Open. 5.High Pressure Side
*Subtract Tank PSI from High Pressure side.
If the GPM requirements of the motor exceed the capacity of skidd steed or excavator, the performance will be less than satisfactory. On the other hand, if the motor is undersized for the capacity of the skid steer or excavator, the hydraulic motor will be subject to premature wear and the resulting back pressure will reduce motor torque, excess flow or pressure will result in failure of the motor, this condition is not covered by warranty.1
