The Baumalight MS1160 Brush Mulcher has a 75” mulching path and is designed for skidsteers with a 7,000 lb minimum weight. The MS1160 comes with unique performance boosting mulcher rings (licensed by Denis Cimaf) and is powered by a bent axis piston motor. The MS1160 uses a fixed tooth holder and comes with 31 sharpenable planer teeth (P11000), as you will see in the brush cutting size charts this allow mulching of much larger material with an average skidsteer. The carbide ripper R9000 teeth also can be put in for mulching with lots of ground contact. The MS1160 skidsteer mulcher also come with a large pressure gauges which is very handy to watch and see how close you are to maximum pressure; ensuring that you maintain an optimal flow.
The heavy-duty steel frame is constructed with T1 alloy tool steel sheet metal. The MS1160’s frame is angled so that you can roll back the Brushy Mulcher, pulling back the pusher bar so that you can fully engage the mulching head. This allows the operator to use the mulching head to fell standing trees. Mulcher head allows the operator better visibility to the area of mulching.
Adjustable skid shoes allow the operator to adjust the cutting height for optimal clearing performance. The adjustable belt tensioner ensures the proper tension of the belts, with no extra idler wheel that could wear out. To tighten the belt, we have to loosen the bolts and raise the motor mount. MS1160 is available with a variable two-speed motor option for maximizing the rotor speed and torque to account for changing mulching material
The standard bent axis piston motors make the most use of your hydraulic flow and pressure for your brush clearing needs. To improve the weight management of the brush mulchers, the rotor is provided closer to the carrier. The rear of the unit is guarded by a 3/8” thick chain curtain so standing brush enters and mulched debris exits. If a fence wire is caught during the mulching process , it can damage the unit by slipping over to the edge of the rotor and get wrapped on the shaft, so wire protection kit is provided to safeguard the rotor and the shaft.
See our brush cutting size chart to see what limb size this heavy duty skidsteer mounted forestry mulcher can handle. To verify motor options for maximum brush cutting sizes, you can visit the chart below.

Save time by easily replacing the AR400 steel wear plates on the MS1160 without needing to remove the rotor.
When push comes to shove, the integrated push bar helps control
Built into the pusher bar, the directional felling hook will directionally control wayward trees, sprawling clumps and low hanging limbs.
Adjustable skid shoes allow the operator to adjust the cutting height for optimal clearing performance.
The MS1160’s frame is angled so that you can roll back the Brushy Mulcher, pulling back the pusher bar so that you can fully engage the mulching head. This allows the operator to use the mulching head to fell standing trees.
Take full advantage of the forward curl and roll back of the MS1160 without risking expensive damage to the hoses. Unique to the Baumalight Brush Mulcher, the spring loaded hose support prevents the hoses from falling into harm’s way during forward curl.
The new curved host bracket provides better support of the hose while reducing the risk of pinching or chafing.
Baumalight hoses are sleeved for the operator and hose protection. A pivoting arm is also standard with a greasable pin keeping the slack out of the way which protects the hoses from dangerous pinching and strain.
To accomodate for different skidsteers that have the couplers on different sides, the MS1160's hose support is positioned close to the centre of the mulching head and has an adjustable hose.
The adjustable belt tensioner ensures the proper tension of your belts, with no extra idler wheel that could wear out. Simply loosen the bolts and raise the motor mount to tighten the belt.
To maximize the rotor speed and torque to account for changing mulching material, the MS1160 is available with a variable two-speed motor option.
Our industry leading bent axis piston motors make the most use of your hydraulic flow and pressure for your brush clearing needs.
Large PSI pressure guage for maintaining the optimal flow that gives you a clear indication of the most efficient brush mulching performance.
To prevent pressure relief activation on the motor seal, the MS1160 comes with a case drain line and a vent to atmosphere relief valve. In the event there is a spike in pressure in your hydraulic lines, the case drain will relieve the pressure and drain it back into the return line and back to the tank. If the connection of the case drain (third line) is missed or if the line is blocked, then the case drain will vent to notify you. A properly installed case drain protected by a vent to atmosphere relief valve will save the work of replacing your shaft seal and save you from down time of unexpected maintenance. To learn more CLICK HERE about the case drain line.
If you are mulching and you catch some old fence wire, it can really cause damage to the unit if the wire slips over the edge of the rotor and gets wrapped around the shaft. The wire can get bunched against the bearings, causing major damage. Our wire protection kit contains a welded raised area on the end of the rotor that protects the shaft and prevents wire from getting in.
The rear of the unit is guarded by a 3/8” thick chain curtain so standing brush enters and mulched debris exits.
Now completely redesigned for the 1100 series Brush Mulcher, the heavy duty steel frame is constructed with T1 alloy tool steel sheet metal.
Also redesigned for the 1100 Series Brush Mulcher, the skidsteer plate is constructed with heavy duty steel with lots of gusseting and reinforcements.
Our powder coat finish is much tougher than conventional paint to stand up to the rigors of mulching and helps prevent rusting.
The powder coated frame has multiple anti-slip pads and laser cut steps, giving the operator a secure footing for easy entry and exit from the cab.
All MS1160 Brush Mulchers come with a free set of 6 replacement teeth. These replacement teeth can be convenienty stored in the enclosed spare tool compartment.
The improved design of the MS1160 mulcher head now allows the operator better visibility to the area you are mulching.
To improve the weight management of the Brush Mulcher, the MS1160 is now designed with the rotor closer to the carrier. This unique design feature allows for smaller carriers to be able to manage a larger mulcher.
Reduce your regular maintenance time by easily greasing the bearings on the MS1160 from outside the frame. No tools required.

NOTICE: Max GPM value must NEVER be exceeded on roller-vane motors or failure will occur, Piston motors run much faster before failure will occur
NOTICE: Above GPM values are under load flow estimates
The most important part of choosing the right Brush Mulcher is pairing the correct motor option to your equipment. Choosing the right style of motor will make a huge difference in your performance and mulching capability. Watch our motor options video where we explain how to use our charts to determine which motor is right for you. Then click the link below to learn more about our 3 types of motors.
